Frequently Asked Questions
About Buying a Used Car
Here are the questions buyers ask us most often: how to check the mileage and history, what paperwork you get, how the warranty and financing work. We answer the same way we do on the phone, without promises we can't back up in writing.
Checking the Car Before You Buy
Mileage, history, your own mechanic and test drives
We check every car before we list it: we read the data from the onboard computers and compare it with the service records, previous technical inspections and the history reports available for the chassis number. We show you what we found, including any gaps in the history. No system can guarantee a used car's mileage 100%, but if something doesn't add up, we don't buy the car and it never reaches our stock.
Yes. We tell you where the car comes from, what damage is on record, what work was done on it while it was with us, and what's likely to need attention soon. If there's a known fault, we write it in the listing and show it to you at the viewing — you won't discover it after you've signed.
Yes, and we actually recommend it. You can bring a mechanic you trust to check the car at our lot, or we can go together to a service of your choice, at your expense, at a time we agree on. A seller who refuses this kind of check usually has a reason.
Yes. The test drive happens on a real route, with us in the car, based on your driving licence and an ID document. We don't limit it to a lap around the lot. You need to feel the engine, gearbox, brakes and steering before you decide. Call us ahead of time so we can have the car ready.
You can stop by during business hours (Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00, Saturday 09:00–14:00), but calling ahead helps: we get the car ready, pull it out of the row, make sure it has fuel for a test drive, and make sure someone has time to be with you. That way you avoid the car you're interested in being out at another viewing.
Price, Payment and Financing
Negotiation, instalments and leasing
The price depends on the car’s year and generation, verified mileage, engine, transmission, damage and service history, equipment and actual condition. The current price is shown on every listing and includes the preparation completed before the car is listed.
Prices are set based on the car's real condition and the market, so they're not inflated to leave room for haggling. There's still some room for discussion, especially if you're paying in full. Come with a reasonable offer and we'll talk it through openly.
Yes, we broker financing through the financial institutions we work with and prepare your file here, with no extra trips. We show you several down-payment and term options so you can compare the total cost of the loan, not just the monthly instalment. Approval belongs to the lender, not to us, and depends on your situation. Paying in full is still an option if you prefer the simple route.
We settle on the exact payment method before signing the contract, depending on how you're buying (paid in full, loan or leasing). Every amount received is recorded in the paperwork. We don't ask for undocumented payments, and we don't work with one price on paper and another in reality.
Paperwork, Registration and Warranty
What documents you get and how the car ends up in your name
You get the sale-purchase contract and the corresponding tax document, the vehicle identity card, the registration certificate (where the car is already registered), the completed registration form, the existing keys, and whatever documentation we have on the car. For cars brought in from abroad, you also get the origin documents and proof of deregistration from that country.
We prepare the complete file and explain step by step what you need to do and in what order: the ownership transfer, local taxes, mandatory insurance and registering the car in your name. Filing with the authorities is done in your name, as the owner, but you won't leave without knowing exactly what comes next.
That's a normal situation for cars brought in from Germany, the Netherlands or Belgium. We hand over the origin documents and proof of deregistration, and the car needs to go through RAR approval and registration in Romania. We guide you through the whole process and tell you upfront what fees and deadlines are involved, so there are no budget surprises.
It depends on the car. Some are still under the manufacturer's warranty, others may come with a commercial warranty for a period and on components set out in writing. We tell you the exact terms for each car before the contract and put them in writing. We don't promise a “full warranty” on a ten-year-old used car. What we do guarantee, we guarantee on paper.
After the Purchase and Special Situations
Defects found later, cars to order and timelines
Call us. If it's a defect we should have known about and didn't tell you, we fix it. That's a hidden defect, and we treat it as one. If it's normal wear on a used car, or a part that wore out through use, we'll tell you honestly and help you with a fair-priced repair solution. Either way, you'll find us at the same address after the sale too.
Yes. We work out the budget, engine, must-have equipment and acceptable year and mileage limits together, then search for the car through the external sources we work with in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Before you decide on anything, you get photos and the results of the checks. The timeline depends on how specific the request is, so we give you a realistic estimate from the start.
If you're paying in full and the car is ready, the paperwork can be done the same day or the next. If financing is involved, the timeline depends on the lender's approval, usually a few business days. For a car brought in to order, we discuss the timeline before we start the search.
We can hold a car aside for a reasonable amount of time while you sort out financing or arrange a check at a service. We agree on the terms by phone, case by case. What we won't do is pressure you with “I've got two other buyers on it.” If the car sells in the meantime, we'll let you know in advance.
